Kanematsu’s plant business is dedicated to developing plant and machinery, export business using various trading methods, mainly in Asia and the Middle East.
This business department is also working on decarbonization-related business, including the promotion of renewable energy both in Japan and overseas.
In our ship business, we are developing our activities with a focus on markets where we can prove our value, such as new shipbuilding, used ships, and marine equipment packages including design.

Ship Business
Our strength lies in our ability to contract new shipbuilding through our in-house construction supervision function.
We also export newly-built special and small size vessels from shipyards in Japan to customers in Asian countries.
We have rich experiences in package deals that include marine equipment and designs, and have been supplying Japanese marine products and technologies to our overseas customers for many years.
International Cooperation Business
We are a hub of Kanematsu’s ODA business, which handles a wide range of products, equipment, and projects, based on our extensive experience, knowledge, and coordination capabilities.
Our activities cover the entire world, and we participate and contribute as a private company to the international cooperation promoted by the Japanese government.
Main products and services
New Shipbuilding Business
We handle a wide range of special vessels, such as chemical tankers and passenger ferries.
We specialize in new shipbuilding business utilizing our in-house construction supervision function.
Marine Equipment Business
We can procure all types of marine equipment in bulk, according to the customer’s request. We also serve as a bridge between Japanese manufacturers and overseas customers, by offering design and technical support as package deals.
Exports of Plant Equipment
We export plant equipment, mainly chemical and petrochemical fields, to emerging countries and Middle Eastern countries. In addition to providing engineering and procuring equipment, we also offer licenced technologies and finace.
International Cooperation
We participate, as a private company, and contribute to the Official Development Assistance (grant aid and yen loan projects) promoted by the Japanese government
Kanematsu’s ODA business is consolidated in this department. The areas we handle include not only the procurement of medical, healthcare, electric power, communication, environment, security, agriculture, education, transportation, and development equipment, etc., but also the contracting of projects.
