Kanematsu Corporation (hereinafter "Kanematsu") has concluded a joint venture agreement to launch a restaurant management business in Indonesia with The Monogatari Corporation, a major restaurant management company, and PT. Prospect Motor, a member of Indonesian conglomerate the Warga Jaya Group.
The Monogatari Corporation is a major restaurant management company that manages and operates many business divisions. Overall sales in its yakiniku (Japanese barbeque) division are among the highest in Japan, and its ramen division sales rank second in Japan. The company's medium-term management plan, Vision 2025, states that it will pursue original value creation and aim to become a leading company in the development of business divisions in Japan and abroad.
The Warga Jaya Group began as a textile company and has subsequently expanded its business fields, mainly in Indonesia. Its wide-ranging businesses include automotive manufacturing and sales, chemical products and paper pulp, logistics and warehouse storage, real estate, and foods and beverages.
Kanematsu has been building a cooperative relationship with The Monogatari Corporation since the latter's establishment, mainly through the supply of food ingredients. Kanematsu has also been working with the Warga Jaya Group since its initial textile business and has participated in numerous joint ventures with the Group in Indonesia as a business partner.
Meanwhile, Kanematsu has stated that further expansion in the Asian food market is one of the priority measures in its medium-term vision future 135, which is in line with The Monogatari Corporation's desire to expand overseas as stated in their medium-term management plan. This led to the creation of a joint restaurant management business with the Warga Jaya Group. Each company will mutually complement each other's functions and aim to swiftly develop their joint business in the Indonesian market.
