- In line with GMP guidelines*, Kanematsu leverages its global network of resident representatives and local staff to conduct regular visits around the world, checking product quality as well as factory and field conditions. In addition, by making equity investments in key suppliers and pursuing integrated management, we ensure a safe, secure, and stable supply of products.
- During the harvest season, our professional buyers — including specialists certified as Hay Inspectors by the NFTA* — inspect forage on a field-by-field basis to minimize fluctuations in quality.

- In addition to major ports, we have extensive experience with imports through regional ports, enabling us to provide comprehensive support not only in terms of cost, but also in areas such as flexible delivery scheduling, CO₂ reduction, and job creation in local communities. Upon request, we can also arrange container delivery directly to farms and undertake unloading operations. To complement these logistics services, we offer our proprietary cloud system, “Hay Portal,” to customers. This system enables timely tracking of container movements even before customs clearance of scheduled deliveries and allows logistics partners to share information such as delivery dates via the cloud. By going paperless, we significantly reduce the risk of communication errors.
- In the United States, one of our main sourcing regions, we further enhance our delivery capabilities by directly contracting with shipping lines and handling certain forwarding operations, including securing vessel space. By leveraging Hay Portal, we have built an end-to-end delivery system that connects suppliers seamlessly to our customers.

- Leveraging our global network, we are actively discovering and developing dairy and livestock inputs (including feed, bedding, and other raw materials) from countries that have not previously exported to Japan, as well as products that make effective use of underutilized resources. While strictly complying with import regulations in Japan and other destination countries, we pursue initiatives that contribute to agricultural promotion, economic development, and job creation, particularly in emerging economies.
- The Kanematsu Group holds a leading share of Japan’s imports in this field. By capitalizing on our scale advantages to strengthen our price negotiation power with suppliers and logistics providers, and by minimizing costs at the time of customs clearance, we can keep sales prices to our customers at competitive and stable levels.

- Harnessing the collective strengths of the Kanematsu Group, we support the digital (DX) and green (GX) transformation of dairy and livestock operations. Through initiatives such as the development of Hay Portal to improve container logistics efficiency and reduce the workload on logistics partners, and the handling of feed additives like BovaerⓇ that help reduce greenhouse gas emissions originating from enteric fermentation (belching), we strive to act as a co-creator of a more attractive and sustainable dairy and livestock industry.
- We also provide comprehensive proposals tailored to each customer’s challenges, including barn construction, completion of manure treatment plants, and power sales projects that utilize unused space on farmland and in cattle barns.
