Kanematsu recently celebrated 20 years of business with Daterra Coffee, a producer of what are considered to be the highestquality coffee beans in Brazil.
As a sustain-able coffee pioneer that emphasizes both quality and environmental factors, Daterra Coffee was the first coffee plantation in Brazil to be certified by the Rainforest Alliance, which aims to protect tropical rainforests and improve labor environments.
When we initiated our business with Daterra Coffee in 2003, considerations of sustainability in the food supply chain were still unusual.
However, Kanematsu saw the value in Daterra Coffee’s ethos of sustainability and has worked with Daterra Coffee as a partner ever since.
Together, we will continue working as pioneers of sustainable coffee, further contributing to local communities and the natural environ-ment while providing safe and delicious coffee to consumers.
