In the Meat Division, with regards to our products such as beef, pork, chicken, turkey, duck, lamb, horsemeat etc., we have been working towards diversifying our sources of supply, such as Europe, North America, Central and South America, Oceania, Southeast Asia etc., to reduce supply risks and ensure stable procurement.

When the ban on the import of Uruguayan beef that had been in place since 2000 was lifted in February 2019, we were the first company to resume shipments to Japan. In this way, we have been proactively involved in cultivating sources of supply. For many years before the lifting of the ban, we took advantage of our company's overseas network to gather information and reinforce relationships with Uruguayan packers (meat processing businesses). This preparation for the lifting of the ban came to fruition, and we take pride in our overwhelmingly No. 1 share of imported Uruguayan beef in the Japanese market since 2019.

Moving forward, we will strive to cultivate sources of supply of not just Uruguayan beef but other sources around the world, for the stable procurement of safe and secure high-quality livestock products.
