 On January 28, 2021, Kanematsu Corporation (Kanematsu) agreed to take over the IC test handler business of Seiko Epson Corporation (Epson) and concluded a business transfer agreement.

 Kanematsu will establish a new fully owned subsidiary to receive various assets connected to Epson's IC test handler business. Said subsidiary will take over operation of the business as a dedicated manufacturer and will also maintain existing production and sales structures in Japan and overseas, realizing a framework that enables the continued delivery of services that have been provided been to date.

 Kanematsu has been engaged in selling IC test handlers that set the standard for semiconductor testing processes since the early 1990s, after it anticipated growth in semiconductor demand in major regions around the world. The conclusion of this agreement ensures the continuation of Epson's highly trusted technology and Kanematsu will leverage the experience and sales expertise it has cultivated with the aim of further strengthening its IC test handler business base and realizing sustainable growth.

 Going forward, the Kanematsu Group will actively advance business expansion and the attainment of added value.
